METHODOLOGY

The texts we read as part of our analysis talk of Gaia Theory, hungry cities, cradle-to-cradle design, the design principles of creation, of technological cities, the integration of all building elements and the issues around that key word ‘sustainability’. We have studied these, as well as other texts relevant to our unit and standpoint and identified the many overlaps and synergies that they have and the common interests they share.

We have over the last few months done our best to think and learn with a Re_Map hat on; finding out exactly what the unit is about, their architectural frame of mind and looking at things from a Re_Map perspective. Wearing that hat, we have then developed an ethical position and a response to how we think these problems might be solved, and will discuss these issues in relation to our unit as well as in the wider context.
